There is a need to build upon social change and the time is now. In the creation of the Break the Silence Photography Series for Sexual Violence Awareness, Stephanie Santore and Ashley Matthews asked volunteers to step forward to reveal their personal experience with sexual violence or abuse. They also welcomed supporters of the cause that included friends/family members of those affected to speak out against it. This event was a part of August First Friday Scranton. The event also doubled as a fundraiser for the Women’s Resource Center.
What’s your FAVORITE outfit?
Nothing says SUMMER like capris, barbecues, and beaches!
And at Simply Lush, nothing says BOUDOIR like cut-offs, baseball jerseys, and babes!
That’s because we believe “boudoir” means way more than lingerie.
What’s YOUR definition of SCRUMPTIOUS?
This month Simply Lush redefined the word SCRUMPTIOUS at our Pizza + Bubble Bath Boudoir Mini!
What’s a “Boudoir Mini”?
I’m glad you asked.
“You’re kinda hot, but if you lost, like, 15 pounds, you’d be smokin’!”
“But, you have such a pretty face…”
“Don’t listen to her—she’s fat and stupid!”
I have a confession: I’m a lifetime member of the Curvy Ladies Club. As such, I am constantly told my worth is directly tied to my weight. And whether that message comes from boyfriends, family, colleagues, or society at large, the bottom line is the same:
Sugar and spice, and everything naughty and nice—that’s what women are made of—a deliciously dangerous blend of savagery and heart, our essences are multi-faceted and ever-evolving!
“You can’t understand someone until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.”
Walk a mile in any woman’s shoes on any given day, and you’ll wear everything from sneakers and heels, to boots and espadrilles. Why? Because as women, our roles in life are as unique and varied as our shoe racks. Between balancing family, work, and love like bosses, we can easily go from barefoot to steel-toe in just one day!
Leading up to the day of their boudoir experience, some of my clients get nervous about what type of outfits or lingerie to bring to their own boudoir sessions. While all of my sessions include personal wardrobe selection assistance with me in which I recommend places to shop and help women choose what is best for their body types, I always ask if they are willing to do implied or fine art nudity. No lingerie needed!
Before you even see a single photo, it’s the EXPERIENCE that you need and deserve as a woman. We juggle. We are professional jugglers. Whether you are a stay-at-home-mom, a work-from-home-mom, a work-out-of-the-home-mom, or just a working woman… I can guarantee that you are juggling tons of sh!t.
It’s also a safe bet that often times, of all the things you juggle, taking care to make sure that YOU are taken care of isn’t one of those priorities. There just simply isn’t that much time, I get it.
I have so much passion for boudoir photography. I pour my heart and soul into each women’s experience. I tailor each session to each individuals wants/needs to help capture their personality. I was so happy when this gorgeous woman walked into the studio the day of her session holding flowers. Her outfits had a delicate lace theme which went perfectly with the flowers.
Many women love to have a boudoir experience for themselves because they deserve it, others crave the experience but also want to gift the heirloom album filled with sexy photos of them to their significant others. It’s really a win-win situation! This bride wanted to have a little fun and add some personality into her pre-wedding photos so she brought along some comic books and comic shirts!
