FAQ

The basics of boudoir start with boudoir FAQ, and at Simply Lush we’re an open book!

After careful research, testing, and analysis, the sexy scientists of The Simply Lush Brain Trust put together a Boudoir FAQ that’s sure to satisfy.

Read on to discover why boudoir is for every woman…

A: They may look it, but none of our clients are models! No modeling experience is necessary. That’s because our photographer Ashley is NEPA’s only boudoir specialist and an excellent coach. She poses you from your fingertips to your toes, flattering all your angles and curves and ensuring stunning photographs.
A: It’s so easy! All you have to do is click here to quickly schedule your complimentary phone consultation online. We will chat and see if we are a good fit for one another and I will answer questions you may have before booking your photoshoot.
A: You should schedule your session no later than 6-8 weeks prior to needing your product in hand. While our typical turnaround time is about 5 weeks from start to finish – it will be lengthier if you opt-in for payment installments. Your products will be ready for pick up approximately two weeks after your final payment.
A: The total experience is 2.5 hours. It starts with professional makeup application and dry hair styling which takes about an hour and you can expect to be in front of my camera for 1.5 hours.
A: Shoots are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, some Fridays, and some Saturdays.
A: Only 2 hours from NYC and Philly, our studio is nestled in scenic Plains Township, PA. The industrial modern boho aesthetic boasts hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, massive windows, aaand… AERIAL SILKS. We tailor sessions to each individual – so if you are a wild child at heart and want outdoor photos, we will work together to plan something fun.
A: The Simply Lush Portrait Experience session fee is $299 and includes your welcome + preparation guide, professional makeup application, individual lash application, professional dry hair styling, the boudoir shoot, standard retouching, pose and expression coaching, client closet access, wardrobe selection assistance, and concludes with a private photo reveal/ordering appointment approximately two weeks after your session!

This does not include any digital images, prints, or products.

During this reveal, you can get items such as upgraded albums, additional album images, wall art, fine art prints, and/or digital files.

Our a la carte options begin at 599, albums begin at 1999, production collections begin at 2399 and the average amount clients spend is 3000.

Our packages are thoughtfully customized based on our client’s most frequent purchases as well as the high demand and limited availability. Be sure to contact us to get a full list of our package and a la carte pricing menu to see what product offerings are available at your photo reveal appointment.
A: No. We recommend hair and makeup by our on-site artists. They how to carefully tailor your style to what you are wearing for your session and beautifully enhance your true essence as a woman with professional grade makeup. Plus, this is also a part of the pampering experience – who doesn’t want a damn makeover?!
A: Yep! Although some clients prefer paying in full during their reveal to ensure prompt product delivery, we also offer payment installments that break up the total amount into weekly or biweekly payments to help accommodate your budget.

A: Our clients LOVE our quick turnaround time, which is only about 4-5 weeks if everything is paid in full. It will be lengthier if you opt-in for payment installments. Your products will be ready for pick up approximately two weeks after your final payment.
A: A reveal is when you come into the studio to see your final edited photos! We will then work together in choosing your favorite images to commemorate your experience and begin designing your heirloom products. This is scheduled before you leave on the day of your shoot and is approximately two weeks after your session.
Not every photographer is alike and may edit images differently, but I stick to my gut (no pun intended) on this one. While we smooth out skin and downplay “problem” areas, our photoshop is very minimal. We WILL remove minor blemishes/skin flaws as well as simply things like under-eye circles and small scars. There is no need to worry about having your body “photoshopped” as the posing I coach you through does all the work to emphasize problem areas.

Many women ask about the retouching of stretch marks. While we firmly believe that your stretch marks are a part of your story and beautiful, we do also understand many women’s aversion to their own. Our standard skin smoothing process will fade the appearance of stretch marks, but please be sure to request more or less at your photo shoot appointment if you have a different preference. Our post-processing techniques are more focused on color balancing, skin perfecting, sharpening, and contrast etc., rather than body morphing.
A: Once you book a session, we send you a welcome email and preparation guide which will walk you through everything you need to know! But for starters we recommend getting plenty of rest, increasing your water intake, and coming in with a great attitude. Please do not fast or try to lose water weight – we promise our camera does not add ten pounds contrary to what you may hear. We’ve also put together a little guide to help calm the nerves. <3
A: Anything that makes you feel sexy, sensual, or just plain powerful. Boudoir isn’t about what you wear (or don’t!), it’s about embracing your fierce essence as a woman. If you find yourself stressing out, think simple. Bring one bra/panty set, one bodysuit, and one wildcard (like something from our Studio Wardrobe or your birthday suit). We will send you a bunch of tips once you book your session.
A: Our studio wardrobe is a great option for women who don’t have time to go shopping before their session. A lot of women also choose to go shopping and borrow items from our closet for more versatile looks. Check out some items in our wardrobe here. The collection keeps growing, some items may not be pictured.
A: YES! We encourage you bringing your best friend with you. It can help calm your nerves and give you the reassurance you need. We only ask that the friend does not interfere with the shoot (directing you, posing you, running in to fix something before every shot.) We’ll handle all those things that need to be done. Having a friend for moral support is great and all, so why not book your sessions back-to-back so you can both enjoy the experience together?!
Absolutely no significant other is allowed in the shooting room unless it’s a couples session.
A: Fly us to CA? Yes, please! WE LOVE TRAVELING. We’ve had many women travel to our studio from across the country, but we also enjoy traveling to different cities, both nationally and internationally. Join our VIP facebook where we will always post when and where we’re traveling so you’ll know when we’re in your area available to shoot! If you’re bringing us to you, you’ll have to cover flight, 2 night stay, and any studio rental fees.
A: We currently offer digital files with our collections! These full-res photos come on a crystal flash drive and are paired with a print release allowing you to print them wherever and whenever.
A: Not unless you choose to sign a model release form. We pride ourselves on privacy, discretion, and confidentiality and will not use your photos on our website, social media platforms, or any other promotional materials without your written consent.

You got questions? We got answers.
